Will of George Faulkner

LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT OF GEORGE FAULKNER

This is the last will and testament of me George Faulkner of Nagambie in the county of Moira, colony of Victoria, storekeeper. After all my just debts and funeral expenses are paid. 1st I give devise and bequeath unto Harry Harrison of Nagambie as aforesaid my silver lever hunting watch and gold chain. 2nd to Catherine Alice Harrison of Nagambie (as aforesaid) I devise and bequeath one piano by bond now in my present residence in Nagambie. 3rd to Ada Harrison of Nagambie as aforesaid I give devise and bequeath all my pictures contained in my present residence in Nagambie. 4th I give devise and bequeath to Catherine Elizabeth Harrison (my present partner in business) of Nagambie (as aforesaid) storekeeper, two thirds of my real and personal estate, for her whole and sole use and benefit, and that the said Catherine Elizabeth Harrison shall not be rendered liable for the sum of one hundred pounds mentioned in the deed of partnership and dated the twenty-sixth day of August one thousand, one hundred and eighty-one for the goodwill of the said partnership. My interest under the said deed I hereby bequeath to the aforesaid Catherine Elizabeth Harrison and further bequeath to the aforesaid Catherine Elizabeth Harrison the whole of my household furniture and effects not above devised and direct in the event of my death prior to that of the aforesaid Catherine Elizabeth Harrison my remains may be interred in the Avanel cemetery in the ground purchased by me and that she shall have control of all arrangements connected therewith. 5th I hereby give devise and bequeath to Margaret Ann Faulkner of Beechworth in the colony of Victoria the reside of my real and personal estate. 6th And I hereby appoint the before mentioned Catherine Elizabeth Harrison sole executrix of this my will. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand this thirteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two at Nagambie. George Faulkner signed by the said George Faulkner and by him declared to be his last will and testament in the present of us present at the same time who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
