Technical details

Initially the Silicon Graphics Personal Iris was used as the workstation platform for the 3D Rapic program. This was a high-quality graphics workstation with the processing capability to render the 3d graphics quickly under Unix. They were replaced by the Silicon Graphics Indy and Indigo in the mid 1990's and soon after by the O2 workstation.
